Georges Grégoire Lavaux, French landscape painter, was born in Paris on November 7, 1860. He worked as stockbroker for many years before devoting himself fully to painting. He was the pupil of Auguste Prévot-Valeri, painter known for his bucolic pasture scenes. After his marriage in 1883 with Marie Berthe Grégoire, he became a resident of Levallois-Perret, near Paris. He exhibited regularly from 1907 at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he won the gold medal at the Salon des artistes français. Other prizes were awarded: the prize for landscape painting in 1942 and the Corot prize in 1944. The location and date of his death are unknown, probably around 1950.
